PTS Series Platinum SMD Flat-Chip Temperature Sensors

Vishay's PTS series SMD flat-chip temperature sensors feature standardized characteristics according to IEC 60751 and IEC 60068 requirements and are AEC-Q200 qualified. The PTS temperature sensors feature short reaction times down to t_0.9 ≤ 2 s (in the air) and superior temperature cycling robustness. Tolerance classes available are class F0.3 and class F0.6.  Temperature coefficient from 0°C to +100°C is 3,850 ppm/K. The temperature range is from -55°C to +175°C and the product is RoHS compliant (RoHS directive 2011/65/EU) and halogen-free. Available sizes/resistances at 0°C are 100 Ω in a 0603 package, 100 Ω and 500 Ω in a 0805 package, and 100 Ω, 500 Ω, and 1k Ω in a 1206 package. A homogeneous film of platinum is deposited on a high-grade (AI2O3) ceramic substrate and conditioned to achieve the correct temperature coefficient and stability. The sensor elements are covered by a protective coating designed for electrical, mechanical, and climatic protection. The terminations receive a final pure-matte tin-on-nickel plating; the immunity against tin whisker growth has been proven under extensive testing.
