MC33665A General-Purpose BMS Communication TPL Transceiver and CAN Gateway
NXP's TPL transceiver and CAN gateway features a multi-port TPL interface for reduced BOM and flexibility
NXP's MC33665A is a general-purpose battery management communication gateway and automotive-qualified TPL (NXP's proprietary isolated daisy-chain protocol) transceiver that is compatible with TPL2-based products (such as the MC33771C or MC33772C) and TPL3-based products (such as the MC33775A).
The MC33665A routes messages upcoming from different TPL ports to standard communications protocols. The standard communications protocols ensure compatibility with most microcontrollers available. The protocols supported by MC33665A are SPI and CAN FD.

- MCU host interface supporting SPI or CAN (FD)
- SPI: single or dual SPI mode up to 10 Mbit/s datarate
- CAN (FD): up to a 5 Mbit/s data rate
- Multi-port TPL interface for reduced BOM and flexibility
- Four independent TPL daisy-chain ports
- Automatic message routing based on the address of the TPL message
- Supports up to four TPL daisy-chains and 62 nodes per chain
- Each daisy-chain features a 2 Mbit/s data rate, two-wire daisy-chain supporting capacitive or inductive isolation, and loopback support
- Message buffering to unload the MCU
- Configurable response and request buffers
- Status/handshake signals for dataflow control
- Message synchronization to unload the MCU
- Enables synchronization of messages across all TPL daisy-chain ports
- Transmission of messages triggered by external event (SYNC)
- Programmable time delay between messages
- General-purpose inputs/outputs (GPIOs) with assignable status and events
