VL-EPH-V6 Features

The V6 adapter provides a simple way to connect an LVDS monitor to a single board computer with DisplayPort video output. Leading processor manufacturers, such as Intel and AMD, no longer support LVDS video output. For the large numbers of OEMs still using flat panel displays, the V6 provides a ready-made solution for connecting an LVDS display to a new embedded computer with DisplayPort output. Embedded computers are rapidly migrating away from traditional LVDS display interface technologies toward newer technologies such as DisplayPort. As a result, many OEMs must find solutions to support the existing display panels that use an LVDS interface. VersaLogic’s V6 adapter offers an easy solution for adding an LVDS display to any product with DisplayPort video output. The main features of the V6 are: a single micro-DisplayPort input that supports up to 2 data channels. The V6 can receive a DisplayPort stream at a link rate of 1.62 Gbit/s or 2.7 Gbit/s and supports 1-lane or 2-lane DisplayPort source data. Note: The DisplayPort specification allows for up to 4 data channels per connector allowing up to 4 K displays. The factory configuration supports 4 standard LVDS panel sizes through on-board jumper selection: 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 800, and 1920 x 1080. It supports LED or LCD panels with color depths of 18 or 24 bits per pixel and pixel clock frequency up to 112 MHz. There is no backlight power or control provided by the V6. The V6 has a single 30-pin connector that supports either single- or dual-channel panels. There is no software required on the computer side for the V6 to operate. The V6 requires no cooling solution when used within its rated 0° to 60°C specification. The V6 is designed to be bolted down within a chassis or enclosure. It has offset mounting holes that allow it to mount as part of a PC/104 computer stack. All VersaLogic manufactured Single Board Computer products, like the V6 are backed by a five year warranty, five-plus year-long product life availability, and expert technical support. VersaLogic developed the V6 relying on over 35 years of experience supplying embedded computer boards to industrial, medical, and defense customers.
